Mass Murdering Muslim Major Worked to Assist Obama’s Transition Team Through University Project

In 2008 The George Washington University Homeland Security Institute (HSPI) initiated a transition task force to help craft homeland security policies during Obama’s transition period. In May of 2009 HSPI finished its report titled, “Thinking Anew-Security Priorities for the Next Administration.” One of the members of this Obama transition project was none other than the Muslim murderer Nidal Hassan. American Muslims express fear, frustration after Ft. Hood shootings

The news made Nihad Awad sick to his stomach. Like the rest of the nation, Awad, who heads the Council on American-Islamic Relations, learned this week that it allegedly was a Muslim who opened fire at a U.S. Army base in Texas, killing 13 people and injuring many more. According to witnesses, Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan issued the great, exalting cry of his faith before opening fire: “Allahu akbar!” God is great. (SNIP) Awad’s Washington-based group, known as CAIR, noted that it had launched an anti-terrorism petition drive and a TV ad campaign against religious extremism, and coordinated an anti-terrorism fatwa, or religious ruling, condemning extremism and terrorism. [Funny how these muslim groups aways express “fear” when one of their own murders and maims yet they never express SHAME. BTW, the FBI is actively investigating this CAIR group because of evidence they finance terrorism. What a shock!…ed]

The Hole at the Heart of Our Strategy

Thirteen dead and 31 wounded would be a bad day for the U.S. military in Afghanistan, and a great victory for the Taliban. When it happens in Texas, in the heart of the biggest military base in the nation, at a processing center for soldiers either returning from or deploying to combat overseas, it is not merely a “tragedy” (as too many people called it) but a glimpse of a potentially fatal flaw at the heart of what we have called, since 9/11, the “War on Terror.” Brave soldiers trained to hunt down and kill America’s enemy abroad were killed in the safety and security of home by, in essence, the same enemy — a man who believes in and supports everything the enemy does. And he’s a U.S. Army major. (SNIP) But we never make any effort to delineate the line which separates “radical Islam” from non-radical Islam. Indeed, we go to great lengths to make it even fuzzier. And somewhere in that woozy blur the pathologies of a Nidal Malik Hasan incubate. [The American people have had this politically correct crap rammed down their throats long enough. Call a spade a spade or continue to have innocent folks murdered at the hands of the religion of pieces…ed]

George W. Bush Visits Fort Hood, Wounded Soldiers

Former President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, visited wounded soldiers and their families near the site of the worst mass shooting on an Army post in the United States. The Bushes made their private visit to Fort Hood’s Darnall Army Medical Center on Friday night. Bush spokesman David Sherzer said in an e-mail that the couple thanked Fort Hood’s military leaders and hospital staff for the “amazing care they are providing.” [Unlike the current CIC, for all his faults Bush always really did care about the troops…ed]

Broader Measure of U.S. Unemployment Stands at 17.5%

For all the pain caused by the Great Recession, the job market still was not in as bad shape as it had been during the depths of the early 1980s recession — until now. With the release of the jobs report on Friday, the broadest measure of unemployment and underemployment tracked by the Labor Department has reached its highest level in decades. If statistics went back so far, the measure would almost certainly be at its highest level since the Great Depression. In all, more than one out of every six workers — 17.5 percent — were unemployed or underemployed in October. The previous recorded high was 17.1 percent, in December 1982. [Until these unemployment numbers start dropping as quickly as Obama’s poll numbers the American people aren’t gonna buy the story that our economy is starting to turn around…ed]

How many more jobs will Obama kill?

Unemployment has hit 10.2 percent, the highest level since the 1983 recession. Obama administration officials will no doubt try to spin this latest bad economic news by noting that unemployment is typically a “lagging indicator.” That was true in the old days, but it won’t cut it in the age of the global economy and Internet-driven 24/7 news cycle. Unemployment may now be something of a leading indicator because business executives make decisions about whether to invest in new jobs much more quickly and based on vastly more data. (SNIP) It’s time for Obama and Democratic congressional leaders Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi to step back from their radical plans to vastly expand federal power, spending, deficits and taxes, and instead reach out to conservatives in both parties who understand how to make the economy grow with tax cuts, reduced bureaucracy, and lower government spending. [Everyone knows what it takes to create real jobs and get our economy moving again. The problem is George Soros owns the Democrat Party lock stock and barrel and we know how much he hates America. Lucky for him he has managed to get like minded people in positions of leadership in this country…ed]

30% Favor One Party Running the White House and Congress

Just 30% of U.S. voters think it is better for the country when one political party runs both the White House and Congress, as is presently the case. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 45% like the idea of divided government better, with the White House and Congress each being run by a different party. But one-out-of-four voters (25%) aren’t sure which is better. These findings are basically unchanged from April and from just before last November’s election. While Democrats now hold the presidency and control both chambers of Congress, they feel less strongly in favor of one-party rule than Republicans and voters not affiliated with either party do in opposition to it. [Now that the American public has seen the kind of damage a bunch of maniacal Democrats can do when they run the show 70% of them say they don’t like one party dominating both houses of Congress and the White House…ed]

Up-or-down vote on an amendment to block abortion funding approved

House Democratic leaders will allow an up-or-down vote on an amendment blocking any money in its healthcare overhaul from funding abortions, risking the votes of members who support abortion rights. Anti-abortion Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) had told a bleary-eyed Rules committee panel that a deal struck earlier in the day to move forward on the issue was off. “There was some compromise language from different proposals that we thought would be satisfactory, our understanding was that we had an agreement. Two hours later it was not an agreement,” Stupak said as the clock neared 1 a.m. Saturday. Stupak, flanked by a bipartisan coterie of abortion opponents, argued for consideration of their amendment that explicitiy prohibits federal funding of abortions under the Democrats’ healthcare bill before the Speaker’s select committee. [Meanwhile the Democrat “leaders” continue to trot out in front of TV cameras and blame Republicans for holding up the government takeover of our healthcare system when in reality they are having nothing but trouble within their own party with this mess…ed]

Pelosi’s telling delay

House Democrats may finally be taking note of voters’ fears of ObamaCare. The Dems were planning to pass their bill today, but Speaker Nancy Pelosi & Co. yesterday realized it might fail, and mulled delaying the vote. Here’s a better idea: Give it up. There’s no reason, after all, for them to follow the White House like lemmings down a path as dangerous to their party’s electoral future as it is to the country. Indeed, that their trillion-dollar bill even remains a priority — while unemployment has hit 10.2 percent, highest in 26 years, as was reported yesterday — is a fair measure of their tone-deafness. It’s no surprise, of course, that Pelosi wants to ram this bill through fast. Tuesday’s election sounded alarms about voters’ wariness of massive new public-spending programs, like ObamaCare. [It’s not that Pelosi is tone deaf, she just doesn’t care what the American people want nor does she care about throwing other Democrats under the bus so she can get this Obamination passed. She knows she is safe in her district as long as her felony old ass wants to run for office…ed]

Speaker Pelosi: Your Blue Dogs are Howling

Like many Americans, I’m very concerned about the efforts underway to rush through the 2,000 page Pelosi health care bill this weekend. Why the rush? That’s a lot of pages to read. Why not give everyone the chance to read it and debate it? (SNIP) What’s in this bill? The “death panel” provision is in it. Medicare cuts are in it. Coverage of illegal immigrants is in it. And federal funding for abortion is in it. I commend the many Republicans and Blue Dog Democrats who are taking a principled stance to fight this. I had a message for Speaker Pelosi in a speech I gave last night for the Wisconsin Right to Life – “please, please don’t break the ‘transparency promise’ by prohibiting at least a vote of your colleagues on funding abortion-on-demand.” [Well said Governor…ed]

What the Pelosi Health-Care Bill Really Says

The health bill that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is bringing to a vote (H.R. 3962) is 1,990 pages. Here are some of the details you need to know. What the government will require you to do: [The devil is always in the details and Betsy McCaughey reveals a bunch of them…ed]

Democrats fall back to earth with a thud

Barack Obama and the Democrats have come back to earth — hard. Republican wins in the Virginia and New Jersey governors’ races Tuesday and recent polling and economic trends reveal a political landscape that has changed dramatically since the president’s convincing election victory a year ago. Democrats on Tuesday did win a New York congressional seat they hadn’t held since the 19th century, in large measure because it became a proxy fight between warring factions in the Republican Party. But independents, the voters who often decide elections, shifted heavily to Republicans in Virginia and New Jersey. That trend, if it holds in 2010, could be very bad news for Democrats trying to hold a 60-40 advantage in the Senate and a 258-177 lead in the House of Representatives. Anxious independent voters are starting to listen to GOP attacks on government spending and Democratic health reform proposals.[If Pelosi and Reid keep trying to ram through legislation that is clearly unpopular with the American people, 2010 is gonna be a slaughter for these clowns…ed]

Newspapers rise and fact-check The Won

It began with the Associated Press: “The White House seized on an initial report from a government oversight board weeks ago that claimed federal contracts awarded to businesses under the recovery plan already had helped pay for more than 30,000 jobs. The administration said the number was evidence that the stimulus program had exceeded early expectations toward reaching the president’s promise of creating or saving 3.5 million jobs by the end of next year. [Here’s a nice little rundown of the reporting done by the lamestream media on the bogus “jobs created or saved” by Obama’s stimulus farce…ed]

Loyalty and the Lunatic Fringe

Where is the loyalty of the RINOs? Arlen Specter joins the Democrats. Colin Powell endorses the Democrat. Dierdre Scozzafava endorses the Democrat. I’m not opposed to the Democratic Party out of some sense of style or family history. I’m opposed to the Democrats because I think they are wrong. I think the Democrats are wrong in their basic view of the role of government and my place in society as a citizen. The government isn’t here to solve all my problems. I changed my political affiliation to independent ten years ago — not because the Republican Party was too far to the right, but because the Republican Party did so little to truly implement the policies they endorsed in the campaigns. Smaller, less intrusive government. [The Americanthinker.com post of the day…ed]

Banks in Ga., Mich., Minn., Mo., Calif. closed

Regulators on Friday shut banks in Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and California, bringing the number of bank failures this year to 120 amid the struggling economy and a cascade of defaults on loans. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. took over United Commercial Bank in San Francisco, with $11.2 billion in assets and $7.5 billion in deposits. East West Bancorp Inc., parent company of East West Bank based in Pasadena, Calif., is buying all of the deposits and most of the failed bank’s assets. The FDIC also closed United Security Bank, based in Sparta, Ga., with $157 million in assets and $150 million in deposits; Home Federal Savings Bank in Detroit, with $14.9 million in assets and $12.8 million in deposits; Prosperan Bank, based in Oakdale, Minn., with $199.5 million in assets and $175.6 million in deposits; and Gateway Bank in St. Louis, with $27.7 million in assets and $27.9 million in deposits. [Two years ago, during those horrid Bush years, you know back when the unemployment rate was around 5%, we had a grand total of three banks closed down. Freddie Mac posts $5 billion loss

the second largest provider of U.S. residential mortgage funding, on Friday posted a loss of $5 billion in the third quarter and predicted it would need more government support amid a “prolonged deterioration” in housing. Increases in the value of securities Freddie Mac held over the period helped buoy its net worth, however, erasing its need to tap government funds for a second straight quarter to stay solvent while continuing to buy and guarantee home loans. Including a $1.3 billion dividend payment on senior preferred stock bought by the Treasury in previous quarters, Freddie Mac’s third-quarter loss increases to $6.3 billion. Massachusetts Man Says He Was Fired for Telling Colleague Her Gay Marriage Is Wrong

A manager at a Massachusetts retail store claims he was unjustly fired after he told a colleague he thought her impending marriage to another woman was wrong. Peter Vidala, 24, told FoxNews.com he was terminated in August from his position as second deputy manager at a Brookstone store at Boston’s Logan Airport after a conversation he had with a manager from another Brookstone store who was visiting the location. Vidala claims the woman, whom he declined to identify, mentioned four times that she had married her partner. He said he then left the store briefly to visit the airport’s chapel before returning. “I found it offensive that she repeatedly brought it up,” Vidala said. “By the fourth time she mentioned it, I felt God wanted me to express how I felt about the matter, so I did. But my tone was downright apologetic. I said, ‘Regarding your homosexuality, I think that’s bad stuff.'” [I’m sure the aclu will be jumping all over this case for this man who was illegally and unjustifiably fired. Quote of the day.

Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined.
