Combat political correctness: Go on the offensive
Political correctness, (PC) is conforming to political/social expectations. These new expectations have been socially engineered by the elites who want to transform our society. It is a Marxist technique to undermine western values. In the extreme political correctness is the demand of a totalitarian state to follow the party line. Political correctness has been a powerful tool to prevent citizens from speaking and hearing the truth. By the use of media propaganda pitting one group against another and indoctrinating children with television and in youth groups has made particular subjects taboo. The PC re-education takes place daily in our schools and universities. It has changed the cultural complexion of America. The practice of “Political Correctness” will gradually transform the cultural complexion of any society. Hmm. Can’t imagine what Major Malik Nadal Hasan’s motivation could have been
I was watching BBC’s Newsnight when the story broke of a killing spree at a Texas military base and instantly wondered – as I’m sure did 99.99 per cent of its other viewers – whether this had anything to do with the Religion of Peace. Then a news update came in that the suspect’s name was ‘Hasan’. But the BBC’s reporter hastened to reassure us that there was “no evidence” to suggest this was an act of “terrorism”. Phew! Perish the unworthy thought. Even today, the MSM is treading on eggshells regarding the killer’s possible motivation. [Screw political correctness. Fanatical muslims have infiltrated many segments of our society and they have chosen to declare war with our way of life. Jobless rate tops 10 pct. for first time since ’83
The unemployment rate has hit double digits for the first time since 1983 — and is likely to go higher. The 10.2 percent jobless rate for October shows how weak the economy remains even though it is growing. The rising jobless rate could threaten the recovery if it saps consumers’ confidence and makes them more cautious about spending as the holiday season approaches. The October unemployment rate — reflecting nearly 16 million jobless people — jumped from 9.8 percent in September, the Labor Department said Friday. The job losses occurred across most industries, from manufacturing and construction to retail and financial. Economists say the unemployment rate could surpass 10.5 percent next year because employers are reluctant to hire. [So much for the “economic recovery” the Obama administration is trying to peddle. The much more accurate U-6 unemployment figure is right around 17%…ed]
Thousands of protestors gathered on the lawn of the U.S. Capitol today and lined up outside House and Senate office buildings to protest Democrats’ health care legislation. The crowd, chanting “Kill the Bill,” “Throw Them Out,” and “Hear us Now,” listened to speeches by Rep. Michelle Bachman, who organized the event, as well as Reps. Tom Price, Eric Cantor, Michael Burgess, John Shaddegg, Marsha Blackburn, Joe Wilson, talk show host Mark Levin, among others. Here’s a sampling of some of the photos I snapped at the event. Owens Breaks 4 Campaign Promises in first hour in Congress
Congressman-elect Bill Owens was sworn in at noon today. Owens indicated in a press release released shortly afterwards that he was now in favor of the the “Affordable Healthcare for America Act” bill in direct contrast to his earlier position during the election campaign. According to Politico.com, Mr. Owens assured voters that he felt the public option had no place in the health care reform bill. Contrary to that position, Mr. Owens now indicates that he intends to vote in favor of the bill even though it now contains a public option. [What a shock to discover that a slimeball Democrat lied while on the campaign trail. It looks like this Owens fella took a page directly out of the Obama playbook now doesn’t it?…ed]
Sure, Election Day 2009 will scare moderate Democrats and make passage of Obamacare more difficult. Sure, it makes it easier for resurgent Republicans to raise money and recruit candidates for 2010. But the most important effect of Tuesday’s elections is historical. It demolishes the great realignment myth of 2008. (SNIP) This was all ridiculous from the beginning. The ’08 election was a historical anomaly. A uniquely charismatic candidate was running at a time of deep war weariness, with an intensely unpopular Republican president, against a politically incompetent opponent, amid the greatest financial collapse since the Great Depression. And still he won by only seven points. [’08 was nothing more than the Democrats giddy ‘American Idol’ moment. Now that reality has set in everyone realizes Obama pulled a Milli Vanilli on us…ed]

Democratic civil war update: MoveOn raises $3.6 million to attack party moderates
A few days ago, the left-wing activist group MoveOn.org began sending out emails seeking contributions to fund primary challenges against any Democratic senator who does not fully support “health care reform with a public option.” Now there’s an update: MoveOn executive director Justin Ruben says the group has raised $3,578,117 for the project and is thinking of new ways to punish errant Democratic lawmakers. “It’s a huge sum, and the clearest signal yet that any Democrat who helps Republicans filibuster health care reform will face an enormous backlash from the grassroots,” writes Ruben. And now, working in conjunction with Howard Dean’s old organization Democracy for America, MoveOn is starting a drive to take away the committee chairmanships of any Democrat who fails to live up to MoveOn’s progressive standards. Hoyer: Dems still shy of 218 votes
Majority Leader Steny Hoyer still expects the House to approve its sweeping health care bill Saturday, but conceded the vote could slip until Sunday or even early next week. Hoyer acknowledged House leaders were still shy of the 218 votes needed, amid flare-ups among anti-abortion Democrats and immigration advocates. Hoyer also warned of Republican delaying tactics that he said could push off plans to vote Saturday evening. He told colleagues to keep open the possibility of a vote on Sunday afternoon or the first two days of next week but said he remained optimistic that the House could vote Saturday night. “Unless there are delaying tactics or something I don’t foresee, I think we can finish the bill by 7, 8 o’clock tomorrow night,” Hoyer told reporters Friday morning on a call organized by Families USA. McCain Says Health Care Bill Would Face Constitutional Challenge
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) predicted on Thursday that there will be a constitutional challenge to the provision in the health care bill under consideration in Congress that would require all Americans to buy health insurance. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the federal government has never before mandated that Americans purchase any good or service. When asked by CNSNews.com on Thursday where in the Constitution is Congress given the authority to mandate that people buy health insurance, McCain said, “That is an excellent question and I’m sure that if they pass health care legislation, I think there would be a challenge.” [Too bad this RINO didn’t push a Constitutional challenge concerning Obama’s eligibility to serve as president when he had the chance…ed]
Pelosi Breaks Pledge to Put Final Health Care Bill Online for 72 Hours Before Vote
Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD that the speaker will not allow the final language of the health care to be posted online for 72 hours before bringing the bill to a vote on the House floor, despite her September 24 statement that she was “absolutely” committed to doing so. House members are still negotiating important issues in the bill–whether it will provide taxpayer-funding for abortions, for example. Pelosi is pushing for a Saturday House vote, and a number of big changes will be introduced, likely less than 24 hours before the vote takes place (if in fact it does). The Rules Committee hasn’t yet released its resolution, or rule, that must be passed before the bill can move from committee to the floor. The rule will set the terms of debate and determine what amendments are in order. It seems likely that the rule will allow very few, if any, up-or-down votes on amendments on the House floor. Rather, the rule will include a series of amendments that will all be adopted at once if the rule passes. Female Police Officer Credited With Stopping Fort Hood Massacre, Hailed a Hero
A female civilian police officer is being hailed as a hero in the aftermath of a gunman’s rampage at Fort Hood — an outbreak of violence that the officer is credited with ending by shooting the alleged gunman four times despite being shot herself. The attack killed 13 people and wounded 30 others at the Texas military post, but the carnage ended there, thanks to the quick response of Fort Hood Police Sgt. Kimberly Munley. A T-shirt a day has kept unemployment at bay for an American man who is making about $85 000 a year by selling advertising space on his torso. Jason Sadler, 26, a former marketing professional from Florida, founded his own company, Iwearyourshirt.com, in 2008 with the idea to wear a T-shirt supplied by any company and then use social media tools to promote the firm. For his human billboard service, Sadler charges the “face value” of the day so January 1 costs $1, while December 31 costs $365. White House: FOX off-limits — strategist
At least one Democratic political strategist has gotten a blunt warning from the White House to never appear on Fox News Channel, an outlet that presidential aides have depicted as not so much a news-gathering operation as a political opponent bent on damaging the Obama administration. Political consultants are a staple of cable television talk shows, analyzing current events based on their own experiences working on campaigns or in government. One Democratic strategist said that shortly after an appearance on Fox he got a phone call from a White House official telling him not to be a guest on the show again. The call had an intimidating tone, he said. The message was, “We better not see you on again,” said the strategist, who spoke on condition of anonymity so as not to run afoul of the White House. An implicit suggestion, he said, was that “clients might stop using you if you continue.” [Damn, this administration sounds like they have taken their gameplan straight out of a Godfather movie…ed]
Chamber suspends Palin ticket sales
Because of an overwhelming number of requests, the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce has suspended the sale of tickets to its annual dinner, which will feature former Alaska governor Sarah Palin. “At this point, I am not saying that we’re sold out,” Chamber president and CEO Dennis Lauver said early Thursday afternoon. “If you’ve already called us or contacted us, either electronically or by phone, or stopped by our office, what we’re asking is that you be patient and not initiate a new request at this time. We are processing those requests at this time.” Chamber officials have also — at least temporarily — quit taking phone, e-mail and walk-in requests for tickets to the Feb. 5 annual meeting, Lauver said. Rare virus poses new threat to troops
U.S. military officials sent a medical team to a remote outpost in southern Afghanistan this week to take blood samples from members of an Army unit after a soldier in the unit died from an Ebola-like virus. Dr. Jim Radike, an expert in internal medicine and infectious diseases at the Role 3 Trauma Hospital at Kandahar Air Field, told The Washington Times that Sgt. Robert David Gordon, 22, from River Falls, Ala., died Sept. 16 from what turned out to be Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever after he was bitten by a tick. The virus is transmitted by infected blood and can be carried by ticks, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Dr. Radike, who is with the Navy, said the medical team “will be taking blood samples and the results may take several weeks to get back.” He called it “a precautionary measure.” [It’s bad enough our troops have to be worried about Taliban infiltrators and the dithering commander in chief but now they have to be concerned about this crap…ed]
Many California jobs ‘saved’ by stimulus funds weren’t in jeopardy
Up to one-fourth of the 110,000 jobs reported as saved by federal stimulus money in California probably never were in danger, a Bee review has found. California State University officials reported late last week that they saved more jobs with stimulus money than the number of jobs saved in Texas – and in 44 other states. In a required state report to the federal government, the university system said the $268.5 million it received in stimulus funding through October allowed it to retain 26,156 employees. That total represents more than half of CSU’s statewide work force. However, university officials confirmed Thursday that half their workers were not going to be laid off without the stimulus dollars. “This is not really a real number of people,” CSU spokeswoman Clara Potes-Fellow said. “It’s like a budget number.” [Yet another one of these stories about the dummied up numbers the Obama administration has been throwing around concerning the stimulus program and the jobs that were “created or saved”…ed]
