In the race from race, Democrats rebut Jimmy Carter

Jimmy Carter is 84 years old and three decades removed from the White House, but he still has the power to make Democrats run. Away from him, that is. From the White House to Capitol Hill on Wednesday, Democrats raced to distance themselves from the former president’s claim that racism was behind Rep. Joe Wilson’s “You lie” outburst and other attacks on President Barack Obama. [Oh please, this old geezer would never have opened his mouth had he not had at least tacit approval from the White House. This was nothing more than another trial balloon floated by the leftists to see what kind of reaction it would generate from the public. As we can see by the next posted article Carter’s comments were way out of line…ed]

12% Say Most Opponents of Obama Health Care Plan Are Racist

Twelve percent (12%) of voters nationwide believe that most opponents of President Obama’s health care reform plan are racist. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 67% of voters disagree, and 21% are not sure. In recent days, several Democrats have suggested that racism is a factor. The most prominent to make that accusation is former President Jimmy Carter. Eighty-eight percent (88%) of Republicans reject the notion that most of the opponents are racist. So do 78% of voters not affiliated with either major party. However, just 39% of Democrats share that view. Twenty-two percent (22%) of those in the president’s party say that most of the opposition to his plan comes from racists, and another 39% are not sure. [Oh, now we see why the Obama administration is running like mad away from that idiot Carter’s racist comments!…ed]

It’s not racism, it’s being an American

Charges of racism are among the most serious that can be made in America because of our nation’s history on race relations. There is no doubt America has come a long way in healing past wounds, but there is certainly more to be done. That is why I am outraged that Democrats today, including former president Jimmy Carter, are injecting race into the debate over President Obama’s policies. Majority to Obama: Get serious on tort reform

Although most of his health care speech consisted of the same talking points he has been offering for months, President Obama last week offered up one surprise as he sought to make his increasingly unpopular health reform bill more palatable for the American public. “I don’t believe malpractice reform is a silver bullet, but I have talked to enough doctors to know that defensive medicine may be contributing to unnecessary costs,” Obama said. He added that he was authorizing Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius to begin “demonstration projects” in various states to deal with malpractice reform. [If Obama and the Democrats were truly serious about “healthcare reform” tort reform would be at the TOP of the list of priorities which it isn’t and never will be…ed]

Pelosi: I’m clueless about cash cut-off

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said yesterday she is clueless about an amendment to prohibit government funds for embattled ACORN, although it overwhelmingly passed the Senate Monday and the White House is calling for the group to be held accountable. “I don’t even know what they passed,” Pelosi told The Post yesterday. “What did they do? They defunded it?” The amendment to suspend housing grants was a stunning blow to the community-activist group — and came as some Democrats and the White House have been backing away from the group. [Pelosi is a lying braindead moron when she says she didn’t know what the Senate has done when it voted overwhelmingly to de-fund ACORN.]

Peter Schiff: I’m running

Schiff announced he will run for U.S. Senate on MSNBC this morning joining a crowded Republican field: “Based upon the unbelievable support that I have receieved from 10,000 supporters like you, I have decided to throw my hat into the ring to challenge Chris Dodd for the honor of representing the state of Connecticut in the United States Senate. Happy Now, Mr. Holder?

What a mess. Everyone is electrified by the pervasive racism in the air, yet not one racist statement or action can be pinpointed amid the ambi-directional outrage. Near misses are everywhere. Serena Williams blows up at a U.S. Open line judge of a different ethnicity. Rapper Kanye West interrupts the award acceptance speech of a white singer only to praise her black competitor. A white teen is beaten up by two black teens on a school bus in Illinois and the mostly black teenage audience cheers. But those stories, from the worlds of sports, entertainment, and adolescence serve as the collective backdrop for the main near-miss events at the heart of American government. White House “green jobs czar” Van Jones accuses whites of polluting black neighborhoods. Barack Obama surrenders to Russia on Missile Defence

I blogged a couple of weeks ago that the Obama administration was about to abandon its plans for Third Site missile defence installations in Poland and the Czech Republic. I wrote then that “if enacted, this would represent a huge turnaround in American strategic thinking on a global missile defence system, and a massive betrayal of two key US allies in eastern and central Europe. Such a move would significantly weaken America’s ability to combat the growing threat posed by Iran’s ballistic missile program, and would hand a major propaganda victory to the Russians.” [Need any further proof what this fraudulent One World Order president is all about as once again he kicks our allies and countries that depend on our help and protection square in the teeth?…ed]

Michelle Obama turns to health care

Pushing for health care reform didn’t turn out so well for the last first lady in a Democratic White House. But with a retooled staff and an under-the-radar summer behind her, Michelle Obama plans a packed autumn that aides say will include a “dedicated focus” on health insurance reform — the same issue that brought such headaches to Hillary Clinton. “She will do things that fit in with what she cares about, like health care reform and the implications it has for family and kids,” said Camille Johnston, Obama’s director of communications. “She will spend her time focusing on where policy and people intersect.” [Go ahead and interject yourself into the political debate Michelle Obama but prepare yourself to get hammered just like any other politician…ed]

Spreading the Wealth

When Barack Obama said he wanted to “spread the wealth around,” he meant it. A new study from Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation estimates that Obama’s policies would spend $10.3 trillion on welfare programs over the next decade. Obama started increasing welfare spending immediately after assuming office. The stimulus bill included $220 billion in new means-tested spending, including a little-noticed provision that repealed one of the key welfare reforms of the Clinton era. The 1996 Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act capped welfare dollars to states, ending the perverse system that rewarded states for adding cases to their welfare rolls. The 2009 stimulus bill lifted the caps. Once again, states that add to their rolls qualify for more cash. [Reparations anyone??…ed]

House ethics panel investigates Rep. Maxine Waters

The House Ethics Committee is investigating Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Los Angeles), who has come under scrutiny because of her husband’s ties to a bank that received federal bailout funds. The panel’s chairwoman and ranking member announced the committee was extending by 45 days a determination on whether it would conduct a more thorough review of Waters’ conduct, but they declined to say what was being investigated. Waters, one of Los Angeles’ most enduring liberal politicians, also declined to comment. Word of the investigation came as the committee announced that it was delaying an inquiry into whether Rep. Jesse L. Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) or his representatives tried to secure the Senate seat vacated by President Obama by promising to raise campaign cash for disgraced former Illinois Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich. The panel cited an ongoing federal investigation in Chicago. [One of the biggest race baiter left wingers in Congress is going to be investigated by her fellow Democrats?? El Oh El! Debate rages over ‘tea party’ crowd size

A fierce numbers battle has erupted in the aftermath of Saturday’s Capitol Hill rally by “tea party” conservatives that is not over the growth of government, the budget deficit or even the $1 trillion cost of President Obama’s health care plan, but about the size of the crowd. Most news organizations reported that the boisterous, anti-big-government rally at the West Front of the Capitol drew “tens of thousands” of demonstrators from across the country, but some of its organizers and many who attended the event insisted that more than a million people showed up. Some put the number at closer to 2 million. [Fifty nutty left wingers show up in Washington DC to spew their anti Bush anti Second Amendment rhetoric and the media refers to it as the Million Mom March. ACORN and corruption go together

The shocking ACORN videos produced and distributed by James O’Keefe, Hannah Giles and Andrew Brietbart reflect the founding purpose of ACORN: creating chaos to overwhelm the system. As I reported last September, and as Glenn Beck and others have reported since then, ACORN was created specifically to execute the Cloward Piven Strategy of manufactured crisis across our country. This series of videos demonstrates in microcosm how ACORN workers promote the strategy. By agitating for mortgage loans that the borrowers could never repay, ACORN and similar groups were primarily responsible for the conditions that led to our current financial crisis. This is not speculation or partisan blather, but a matter of historical fact, extensively documented in last September’s article and many, many others. Ohio inmate ‘traumatized’ after failed execution

An inmate whose execution was halted when executioners failed to get the needle into a vein after an unprecedented two hours of trying is traumatized, and trying to put him to death again in a week could spell disaster, his lawyer said. Romell Broom is still recovering from Tuesday’s prolonged execution attempt and is physically and emotionally spent, lawyer Adele Shank, said Wednesday. “It went so badly when he was walking in without injured veins, to go forward so soon afterward just seems to be inviting disaster,” Shank said. A Primary Turnout So Low It May Be a Modern Record

Though official records are incomplete, it appears that the turnout in Tuesday’s Democratic primary was the lowest in modern New York City history. Despite pleasant weather and the efforts of candidates who crisscrossed the city for weeks, just 11 percent of enrolled Democrats went to the polls. The primary was also marked by a political anomaly: more people cast their ballots for public advocate and comptroller than for mayor. More than 347,000 Democrats voted in Tuesday’s five-way primary for public advocate and more than 352,000 in the four-way race for comptroller, but some 312,000 voted in the mayoral contest. [Kinda looks like the Obama magic has run out for the Democrats huh?…ed]

Is Health Care Reform Constitutional?

Where in the U.S. Constitution does it say the government can force people to buy health insurance? And by what authority does it prohibit the purchasing of insurance across state lines? A key part of the administration’s plan to reform health care is what is called the “individual mandate” — a requirement that everyone must have health insurance either through his or her employer or purchased individually. A good chunk of the uninsured are that way of their own volition. They are young and healthy and feel they have better things to do with their money at this point in their lives. Forcing them is the only way to get them covered, but it’s not clear where the constitutional authority to do that comes from. [The Constitution is just a minor stumbling block for the leftists. For decades the public schools in this country have made sure that young people coming out of the system are completely ignorant of our Constitution and how our government was intended to perform according to the founding fathers and this was by deliberate design…ed]

Liberal Lies About National Health Care: Bonus Joe Wilson Edition

I’m trying to get to the next installment of my Pulitzer Prize-deserving series on liberal lies about national health care, but apparently liberals have decided to torture us by neurotically fixating on one lie. After President Barack Obama gave a speech to a joint session of Congress last week passionately defending his national health care plan, the Democrats were agog at the brilliance of the speech. Nancy Pelosi was so thrilled, her expression almost changed. But as Obama ticked off one demonstrably false claim after another — eliciting 37 standing ovations from the Democrats in the audience — America’s greatest living statesman, Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., yelled out, “You lie!” in response to Obama’s claim that the bill will not cover illegal aliens. [Ann Coulter kicks the lying liberals right in their shriveled up nads again. China could undermine US military power in Pacific: Gates

China’s increasingly advanced weaponry could undermine US military power in the Pacific, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said on Wednesday. Echoing US intelligence guidelines released on Tuesday that warned of Beijing’s military modernization, Gates said US naval carriers and air bases in the Pacific faced new threats from China. “In fact, when considering the military-modernization programs of countries like China, we should be concerned less with their potential ability to challenge the US symmetrically — fighter to fighter or ship to ship — and more with their ability to disrupt our freedom of movement and narrow our strategic options,” Gates said in a speech to the Air Force Association. Pelosi: Democrats facing toughest midterms ever

The 2010 congressional elections will be the “toughest midterm elections Democrats have ever faced,” Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) acknowledged today. Pelosi made the statement in a fundraising pitch for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, urging supporters to help Democrats beat back Republican attacks. “The Republican defenders of the status quo are shouting because they understand that this is the toughest Midterm Election that Democrats have ever faced,” Pelosi wrote, hinting at Rep. Joe Wilson’s (R-S.C.) outburst. Quote of the day.

I think, myself, that we have more machinery of government than is necessary, too many parasites living on the labor of the industrious.
