We’re not “birthers,” we’re just really healthy skeptics ya know?
Please call me skeptical. It’s a label I proudly wear. Since my first day of second grade, when I traded my homemade chocolate-chip cookies for a smooth-talking fourth-grader’s out-of-ink ballpoint pen, I’ve been a wary consumer. So, if a presidential candidate tries to hand me a barebones certificate of live birth in lieu of a valid, long-form birth certificate, my skeptical antennae go on alert.
FOX News comes out on top of msnbc, cnn, hln and cnbc ….COMBINED, again!
You might see another “Fox News explodes” moment from Bill O’Reilly tonight. For the second time this week and fourth time this year, FNC beat the combined totals of the four other news channels in primetime in both Total Viewers and the A25-54 demo.
In February, just two months before he became a Democrat, Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania made a passionate plea for a special tax break for plaintiffs’ trial lawyers. His bill, S 437, would allow trial lawyers to deduct immediately on their taxes up-front expenses they incur when investing in contingency lawsuits. The tax break is reportedly worth $1.6 billion to trial lawyers. If Specter’s amendment passes, this single provision would more than repay the legal industry for its roughly $762 million in political contributions to Democrats over the last two decades. Which would, in turn, mean more money could be recycled and funneled back to Democrats.
Amid a boisterous debate on health care reform, people flooded members of Congress on Thursday with so many e-mails that they overloaded the House’s primary Web site. Technical support issued a warning to congressional staff that the site – – may be slow or unresponsive because of the large volume of e-mail being sent to members.http://www.house.gov. Jeff Ventura, a spokesman for the House’s chief administrative officer, which maintains the Web site, said traffic data was not available and could not be released without the lawmakers’ consent.
As HUMAN EVENTS reported earlier a racially charged activist group called “Color of Change” founded by Van Jones, a special advisor to the Obama Administration, is trying to silence popular radio and Fox News personality Glenn Beck by calling for a boycott of Beck’s TV advertisers after he called President Obama a racist on the Fox and Friends morning news show. Claiming that Beck is race baiting “Color of Change” has bullied at least five of Beck’s big advertisers — SC Johnson, Progressive Insurance, GEICO, Procter & Gamble and Lexis Nexis — to pull their ads from Beck’s national cable program.
Students, teachers and local pastors are protesting over a court case involving a northern Florida school principal and an athletic director who are facing criminal charges and up to six months in jail over their offer of a mealtime prayer. There have been yard signs, T-shirts and a mass student protest during graduation ceremonies this spring on behalf of Pace High School Principal Frank Lay and school athletic director Robert Freeman, who will go on trial Sept. 17 at a federal district court in Pensacola for breaching the conditions of a lawsuit settlement reached last year with the American Civil Liberties Union.
This is why nobody listens to left wing talk radio morons. Audio clip.

Stimulus bill spending has slowed to a trickle, despite President Obama’s June order to his Cabinet to speed it up. The average stimulus spending per week has dropped severely, to just $4.2 billion over the past month from $9.7 billion during the prior four months. The government spent $2.9 billion in the week ending Aug. 7.
“False rumors” about Obama’s healthcare plan huh New York Times?
The stubborn yet false rumor that President Obama’s health care proposals would create government-sponsored “death panels” to decide which patients were worthy of living seemed to arise from nowhere in recent weeks. Advanced even this week by Republican stalwarts including the party’s last vice-presidential nominee, Sarah Palin, and Charles E. Grassley, the veteran Iowa senator, the nature of the assertion nonetheless seemed reminiscent of the modern-day viral Internet campaigns that dogged Mr. Obama last year, falsely calling him a Muslim and questioning his nationality. [Funny, I didn’t see the words “opinion” or “editorial” on this piece anywhere. Certainly this isn’t a FACTUAL NEWS article….ed]
In what can fairly be described as an admission that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin knew what she was talking about, the Senate Finance Committee Thursday dropped language from its bipartisan healthcare reform package that Palin and others had suggested would eventually lead to mandated end-of-life counseling sessions for seniors. Supporters of Obamacare, including President Barack Obama, had accused Palin and others of being dishonest in suggesting the counseling sessions would somehow lead to the government encouraging euthanasia as a cost-cutting measure as part of rationed care.
Zeituni Onyango first came into the national spotlight when her nephew was in the final stretch of his run for the presidency. In 2004, a judge denied Onyango’s request for political asylum, and ordered her return to Kenya. In 2008, shortly before the election, it was discovered that Onyango had defied those orders, and continued to live in Boston. She has kept a low profile since her story broke, and some worried it could hurt Barack Obama’s chance to win the White House.
The debate to rename two Dallas schools after President Barack Obama and newly sworn-in Supreme Court justice Sonia Sotomayor is heating up. Much of the focus has been on the call to add Mr. Obama’s name to a much-loved south Dallas school. DISD school board trustee Ron Price called for the change to Billy Earl Dade Learning Center to Barack Obama Middle School.
For nearly one-out-of-three voters (32%), Jimmy Carter is the living ex-president who has done the best job since leaving the White House, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey. Carter, who served in the White House from 1977 to 1981, ranks first among the four surviving presidents.
Hypocrisy: Rep. Gene Green has voted against bills that require people to present a photo ID before they vote. But don’t show up at one of his public gatherings without a driver’s license. You won’t get in.
Palm Pre cell phone secretly ratting out user’s information to the company.
The Palm Pre phone knows where you are, and it’s secretly giving out that information. On a daily basis, according to a software developer. Joey Hess, who lives on the East Coast and works on a Linux-based operating system, noticed something odd about his Palm Pre phone. He was checking over computer logs he created to track the phone’s system and he discovered that the Pre was uploading its GPS location to Palm Inc. once a day.
Back in July, a software company named Smartronix landed an $18 million contract to build a Web site where taxpayers could easily track billions in federal stimulus money. It was just another part of the Obama administration’s ongoing effort to bring transparency to stimulus spending, we were told. But it seems the drive for transparency doesn’t cover the contract itself. After weeks of prodding by ProPublica and other organizations, the General Services Administration released copies of the contract and related documents that are so heavily blacked out they are virtually worthless.
Car dealers participating in the government’s ‘cash for clunkers’ program were shocked when the IRS informed them that they will owe taxes on the CARS rebates they receive from the government. From Automotive News: It turns out dealers will have to pay taxes on the thousands of dollars in rebates they receive under the federal cash-for-clunkers program, according to an IRS advisory bulletin issued today. [Read about dealer angst over waiting for reimbursement here…ed]
Republican House lawmakers from Michigan on Thursday criticized the Obama administration for considering their state for a new prison to house Guantanamo Bay detainees. Talk of moving detainees from the controversial prison in Cuba to rural Michigan gained traction Thursday as a team of Obama administration officials visited the Standish Maximum Correctional Facility in eastern Michigan. The officials includes representatives of the Departments of Justice, Homeland Security, and Defense.
Quote of the day.
Not only am I redundant & superfluous, but I also tend to use more words than necessary.
-Unknown, but I would like to attribute it to Barack Obama after reading this.
