Mag May Have Helped Cover Up Alleged Woods Affairs

The National Enquirer caught Tiger Woods in a steamy extramarital affair two years ago, but killed the story in exchange for the golfer doing a rare cover-shoot for its sister magazine — despite Tiger’s exclusive deal with a rival publication, The New York Post reported. Woods’ camp, fearful of a potential public-relations nightmare in spring 2007, allegedly agreed to do a cover for Men’s Fitness — a magazine owned by the Enquirer’s parent company, American Media, former Men’s Fitness editor-in-chief Neal Boulton said. “[American Media CEO] David Pecker knew about Tiger Woods’ infidelity a long time ago,” Boulton told The Post. “[Pecker] traded silence for a Men’s Fitness cover.” [Might as well get the latest Tiger Woods crap out of the way right off the bat…ed]

Keeping the Nobel Prize would violate the Constitution

Congratulations, Mr. President, but if you care about the rule of law, you’ll have to fork over the Nobel Peace Prize within 60 days of accepting it next week. Contrary to Mel Brooks’ pronouncement in “History of the World Part I,” it’s not always good to be the king. It’s impossible if you are an American president. Article I of the Constitution states: “No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince or foreign State.” Clearly, the presidency is both an office of “profit” and of “trust” and the prize package (including 1.4 million clams) is included in the terms “present” or “emolument.” Therefore, a sitting president cannot accept it from a “King, Prince or foreign State” without the consent of Congress. [I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that Mr. Obama used to lecture college students on how to subvert our Constitution so I doubt he’s too worried about this little bump in the road…ed]

Obama in handcuffs

Imagine if President Obama went to Oslo next week to receive his Nobel Peace Prize and was arrested for purported war crimes committed by U.S. forces in Afghanistan. This bit of historical irony would be possible under an argument being made by Luis Moreno-Ocampo, chief prosecutor for the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Mr. Ocampo claims jurisdiction over actions of U.S. troops in Afghanistan because Kabul in 2003 acceded to the Rome Statute, which established the court. He said a preliminary examination already is under way regarding possible American culpability in crimes against humanity. [Well the liberals in this country are all for this stupid international court and since Obama is the guy in charge of calling the shots in Afghanistan it would seem logical HE would be the one held culpable for any perceived “war crimes.” Obama in handcuffs? Sounds great to me…ed]

Searching in Vain for the Obama Magic

Never before has a speech by President Barack Obama felt as false as his Tuesday address announcing America’s new strategy for Afghanistan. It seemed like a campaign speech combined with Bush rhetoric — and left both dreamers and realists feeling distraught. One can hardly blame the West Point leadership. The academy commanders did their best to ensure that Commander-in-Chief Barack Obama’s speech would be well-received. Just minutes before the president took the stage inside Eisenhower Hall, the gathered cadets were asked to respond “enthusiastically” to the speech. [How pathetic. Cadets were TOLD to show “enthusiasm” for Obama…ed] But it didn’t help: The soldiers’ reception was cool. (SNIP) But in this case, the public was more disturbed than entertained. Indeed, one could see the phenomenon in a number of places in recent weeks: Obama’s magic no longer works. The allure of his words has grown weaker. [Those who weren’t intimidated by the predictable catcalls of racism from the leftists warned that Obama was nothing more than an empty suit long before he became president and have now been proven correct. The facade has been stripped away. The world views this man for what he is, a weak “leader” with dwindling support even from his own party. A Democrat party that will undoubtedly suffer major losses in the 2010 midterm elections…ed]

What Obama Really Said Last Night

Last night, President Obama delivered an historic speech to the nation and to the world on his plans for Afghanistan. Here, in sum, is what the president said: I really don’t want to be commander-in-chief, but I’ll do it if I have to — at least for a little while, and then we’ll see. Just so long as it doesn’t cost too much, or take too long, or interfere with my plans to nationalize healthcare and fundamentally change America. We Americans didn’t ask for this war; and God knows I didn’t either. But I’ll certainly make sure we end this war, and soon. I have bigger fish to fry, after all. This war is a distraction from my domestic left-wing agenda and my need to bring “change” to America. So Afghanis, get your act together. We’ll help you for the next 18 months or so and then we’re hightailing it out of here. I have to worry about other threats and other dangers. And, most importantly, I have to worry about healthcare and “change.” [A USMC veteran provides us with his synopsis of Obama’s Afghanistan speech and it didn’t even take 4,000+ words…ed]

Brutal poll for Dems

Democrats had known there was an “intensity gap” between angry conservatives in the Republican Party and the unexcited Democratic base, and in a midterm election, base turnout often determines who wins the night. Yet no one suspected it was this bad. Nonpartisan pollster Research 2000 conducts a large-scale weekly poll for Daily Kos measuring voter sentiment toward key Republican and Democratic leaders and the parties (2,400 respondents, for a margin of error of 2 percent). Last week’s edition featured the typical generic congressional ballot test, and Democrats held a 37-32 advantage, not atypical compared to most other polling on that question. In its most recent polls, CNN had Democrats up 49-43, while Pew was at 47-42. And while Gallup bucked the trend, with Republicans up 48-44, those exact generic congressional numbers aren’t as important for the 2010 midterms as precisely who will turn out. And right now, it’s looking brutal for the Democrats. [Notice how the founder of the left wing loony bin site, the daily kos, conveniently left out the very accurate Rasmussen generic congressional polling which has had Republicans leading the Democrats since the end of June! The bottom line here is Republicans and Independents WILL BE coming out in droves on election day 2010 while the Democrats will be staying home watching The Jeffersons reruns…ed]

Obama White House Social Office will step up vigilance at upcoming holiday parties.

As Congress and the Secret Service probe how Tareq and Michaele Salahi gained entrance to President Obama’s state dinner last week without being on the guest list, I’ve learned that the Obama White House has 28 holiday parties planned over the few weeks with more than 50,000 people expected. And social office staffers–who were not posted near the entrance to check off guests coming into the state dinner–now will be more visible at the upcoming events. [The Obamas be movin’ on up to the east side, on our dime! Remember these 28 parties with 50,000 campaign donors and rabid leftist supporters when you are out looking for a job during the CHRISTMAS holiday because you are now part of the 20% without one in this country thanks to this anti American president’s policies…ed]

Universities take action on Climategate

The Obama administration might think Climategate is a nonevent, but on Monday, Pennsylvania State University announced it was launching an investigation into the academic conduct of Michael Mann, director of the school’s Earth System Science Center. Yesterday, it was announced that Phil Jones, director of the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia, would step aside while his university conducts an investigation. With so much fraud being exposed in the academic community that studies and promotes global-warming theories, an example has to be made of someone. There are dozens of researchers at other institutions involved in this scandal surrounding leaked e-mails that discuss covering up evidence of global cooling and destroying research that discounts global warming. For example, in the United States, the National Center for Atmospheric Research is in the thick of the e-mail chain. Mr. Mann is front and center in the debate over what constitutes unethical research. [Since most universities in this country are run by far left loons will this be a real investigation of what could be viewed as a criminal conspiracy by these climate propagandists errrr, scientists or merely a well orchestrated cover-their-asses type undertaking? I’m leaning towards the latter…ed]

Seeing No Evil On Climate-Gate

Media: The shameless denial with which major newspapers and networks have treated “Climategate” layers even more scandal on top of the original one: Mainstream media now co-conspirators with scientific hacks and big government. The evolution of America’s dominant media from guardians of our freedoms to enablers of government growth has been a decades-long story, their biases copiously chronicled. But their response to the scientific scandal of the century, since it broke a week and a half ago, bids to become known as history’s great unmasking of these supposedly independent journalists. The scandal burst into the open when a hacker — we’ll call that mysterious figure a whistle-blower if they won’t — released thousands of e-mails exchanged by climate scientists who beaver away at Britain’s University of East Anglia. The e-mails clearly reveal that the university’s Climatic Research Unit, a central source of data for global warming alarmists, corrupted the science by hiding evidence of the last decade’s decline in global temperatures. [There is no excuse for anyone to depend on the lazy, complicit and corrupt lamestream media any longer. There are too many alternatives available for just about everyone to get up to speed on what is really happening in this country and around the world if they so desire…ed]

Australia’s Parliament defeats global warming bill

Australia’s plans for an emissions trading system to combat global warming were scuttled Wednesday in Parliament, handing a defeat to a government that had hoped to set an example at international climate change talks next week. The Senate, where Prime Minister Kevin Rudd’s government does not hold a majority, rejected his administration’s proposal for Australia to become one of the first countries to install a so-called cap-and-trade system to slash the amount of heat-trapping pollution that industries pump into the air. The 41-33 vote followed a tumultuous debate in which the conservative main opposition party at first agreed to support a version of the government’s bill, then dramatically dumped its leader and switched sides after bitter divisions erupted within the party. [While the headline would appear to show politicians in Australia have made a strong statement against this climate change fraud the reality is they simply don’t want to be the first country to start screwing their citizens. They are sitting back waiting for the politicians in THIS country to take the lead in that respect…ed]

Critics not invited to White House ‘jobs summit’

Facing rising unemployment rates and having seen uncertain results from the stimulus bill, President Obama is hosting a “jobs summit” at the White House Thursday that will be packed with business leaders and economists supportive of White House policies but lacks a diversity of opinion, several analysts say. Missing from a partial list of attendees released by the White House are the self-proclaimed voices of business – the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Federation of Independent Business – both of which have been critical of Mr. Obama’s proposed health care overhaul. Confirmed attendees include liberal economists credited with shaping the $787 billion stimulus package, union leaders, environmental advocates and executives from Google and other blue-chip firms. [Typical behavior from the narcissist in chief. If you aren’t a boot licking yes man you can forget your two cents being included in the discussion. Obama has no interest in seeing that jobs are created by small businesses in this country, his mandate was to do just the opposite so this ‘summit’ is just another excuse for a bunch of lefties to get together and pretend they are really important…ed]

Read the Numbers: Obama Will Bankrupt America

When President Barack Obama entered office in January, the greatest problem America faced was neither the war in Afghanistan nor the recession. It was the imminent crisis of the welfare state. Not only has Obama failed to deal with this crisis, he is pursuing policies that will bankrupt America. In March, the Peter G. Peterson Foundation, led by former U.S. Comptroller General David Walker, calculated the total value of the federal government’s “unfunded liabilities” as they stood at the end of fiscal 2008. These liabilities include the publicly held portion of the national debt plus the amount the government must pay to cover all the entitlement benefits it has promised to living Americans through Social Security, Medicare and other welfare-state programs minus the tax revenue the government can expect to collect to pay for these entitlements under existing tax law. The sum of these unfunded liabilities, the foundation discovered, stood at $56.4 trillion. That equals $435,000 for every full-time worker in the United States. [If you don’t think this country is headed for the mother of all crashes you may want to read this thing and put the numbers together for yourself, then go hit the bottle hard…ed]

Obama lunches with top political writers

On the day of his major Afghanistan speech, President Obama had lunch with a group of top political writers at the White House, according to a source familiar with the lunch. There were some attendees today who write extensively on foreign policy, such as Joe Klein (Time), Fareed Zakaria (Newsweek/ CNN), and Tom Friedman (NY Times). But it wasn’t the only time that the White House reached out to leading opinion-makers before Obama outlined the administration’s strategy at West Point. As I reported earlier, senior administration officials held a background briefing with nearly a dozen top writers and pundits, including Ron Brownstein, Eugene Robinson, Al Hunt and Judy Woodruff. [Headline should have read: “Obama meets with propaganda staff, goes over talking points he wants to have delivered via the usual and reliable left wing media outlets. Taxpayers pick up the tab”…ed]

FTC to Examine Possible Support of News Organizations

The head of the Federal Trade Commission said Tuesday the agency will study whether government should aid struggling news organizations, which are suffering from a collapse in advertising revenues as the internet upends their centuries-old business model. FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz’s comments came during day one of a two-day “workshop” sponsored by the agency that became a forum for arguments among the heads of a diverse array of news organizations over the future of journalism. Mr. Leibowitz said his agency will examine whether government should change the way the industry is regulated, from making news-gathering companies exempt from antitrust laws to granting them special tax treatment to making changes to copyright laws. [Fittingly, Obama is looking at ways to save the media organizations that he utilizes to help push his left wing agenda. Doesn’t seem like shocking news to me. These “news” companies aren’t going under because of lack of revenue from advertising, they are swirling the bowl because of the uber liberal content within their pages. The American people are moving to the internet and talk radio in droves because of the left wing bias in the media and that’s why the industry is dying such a quick death…ed]

ABC’s Diane Sawyer Ignores Joe Biden Gaffe: The ‘Nuclear State of Afghanistan?’

Good Morning America’s Diane Sawyer on Wednesday conducted a generally tough interview with Joe Biden on the subject of Afghanistan, but ignored an embarrassing gaffe from the Vice President: “Our number one enemy concern is the existential threat, al Qaeda. Number two is the stability of a nuclear state called Afghanistan, under siege by radicals.” Did the Vice President, perhaps, mean Pakistan? It’s unclear as Sawyer didn’t follow up. Earlier in the segment, responding to Sawyer’s comment that Republicans believe setting a date for removing troops is a bad idea, Biden argued, “How are they emboldened, knowing that by the time we train up the Afghanis, we’re going to be gradually handing off, beginning in 2003 [sic]?” Beginning in 2003? Would journalists allow Sarah Palin to get away with such obvious malapropisms? [Biden, the blithering idiot, screws up royal again but of course the lamestream media will give the gaffe master yet another free ride. Republicans receive no such breaks…ed]

ACORN Dispersing Resources to SEIU, other Liberal Groups, House Probe Finds

ACORN, the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now, is in the process of changing its name and has already transferred many of its resources to several other left-wing advocacy and political groups, according to a report released Tuesday by Republicans on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. (SNIP) Former ACORN employee-turned-whistleblower Anita Moncrief told the House panel of eight Republicans and no Democrats that the organization continually got federal block grants but did not use the grants for helping the poor as promised. Rather, ACORN “used the money to fund the political machine,” Moncrief said. “ACORN makes money off the poor,” Moncrief said. “Poverty is big business for ACORN.” [If only the American public would wake up en masses and pay attention to what is going on with these ACORN crooks then loudly demand a RICO prosecution of the top people in this organization…ed]

Republicans say Obama is blocking ACORN probe

House Republicans on Tuesday accused the Obama administration of covering up criminal activities of the embattled community activist group ACORN, saying that the president has used the group as an illegal political tool to help himself and other Democrats get elected. “The current administration is fast becoming, in reality, the war room of ACORN’s political machine,” said Rep. Darrell Issa, California Republican. “I am concerned that the era of corruption promulgated by ACORN and protected by the White House is just the beginning.” The California lawmaker, the top Republican on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said ACORN has engaged in “illegal, partisan activities designed to help individual Democratic members.” “This [action] goes from city councilmen to state assemblymen all the way to President Barack Obama,” he said. Police: Burglar showers, tells residents ‘Obama let him in’

A man accused of breaking into a Crestview home and taking a shower reportedly told residents who showed up “President Obama let him in” the house. According to a Crestview Police Department report, St. Petersbug resident Donald Leon May, 48, entered a home in the 400 block of East Railroad Avenue Nov. 18 through an unlocked back door and took a shower. While in the shower, two juvenile children who lived at the house entered with a friend. Thinking their dad was home, one of the children entered the bathroom and “saw a male in the shower who was not his father,” the report states. “The male in the shower stated ‘Obama let him in’” and told the boy to “get out,” the report continues. New York Senate votes against legalizing gay marriage by a large margin, 38-24

In a major blow to the gay rights movement, the state Senate overwhelmingly killed a bill to legalize same-sex marriage on Wednesday. After two-and-half hours of passionate debate, the Senate voted the measure down 38-24. New York now joins a list of 31 other states, most recently Maine, to shoot down gay marriage. None of the Senate’s 30 Republicans voted for the measure. Of the 32 Democrats, 24 voted for it, eight against. Sen. Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) noted that the five states that have approved gay marriage did so through legislation. “When the people had the opportunity to vote [on a referendum], the people have rejected it, ” Diaz said. Mother has two-year-old son snatched by social workers after refusing doctor’s advice to feed him junk food

Like many toddlers Zak Hessey was a ‘fussy eater’ who regularly refused his mother’s healthy home cooking. Concerned about his falling weight, his worried parents took him to see doctors for advice and triggered a shocking chain of events that led to the youngster being put into foster care for four months. Paul and Lisa Hessey believe in the long-term benefits of healthy eating and rejected medical advice to feed their two-year-old son a diet of high-calorie snack food such as chocolate, crisps and cakes. To their horror social workers put Zak into foster care ‘to assess his needs’ and allegedly threatened the couple they could lose their parental rights if they fought the decision in court. Quote of the day.

I loved President Bush. He is my No. 1 man in my life because he helped me when I really needed that help.

-Zeituni Onyango, Obama’s aunt, who is living in our country illegally even after being told to leave by an immigration judge back in 2004, is grateful to Bush for ordering a halt to deportation proceedings for illegal aliens just prior to last year’s presidential election to ensure Barack Hussein Obama wouldn’t suffer at the polls if she was arrested before the votes were cast. Thanks George, what a guy.
