Pregame Report: The NEA Conference Call
On August 25th 2009, Big Hollywood’s Patrick Courrielche broke the story of a conference call he attended with other “rising artist and art community luminaries”:
On Thursday August 6th, I was invited by the National Endowment for the Arts to attend a conference call scheduled for Monday August 10th hosted by the NEA, the White House Office of Public Engagement, and United We Serve. The call would include “a group of artists, producers, promoters, organizers, influencers, marketers, taste-makers, leaders or just plain cool people to join together and work together to promote a more civically engaged America and celebrate how the arts can be used for a positive change!”
The email invite came directly from Yosi Sergant, then-Director of Communications at the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), and it advised this hand-picked group that the call was about laying “a new foundation for growth, focusing on core areas of the recovery agenda – health care, energy and environment, safety and security, education, community renewal.” [The Barack “Hugo Chavez” Obama administration is using the taxpayer funded National Endowment for the Arts to “force” artists dependent on NEA subsidies to pay the bills to push his radical leftist agenda. ACORN Chief Dodges Congressman’s Call to Come Before Congress
ACORN’s top officer on Sunday dodged repeated calls to come before Congress and testify about the embattled group’s finances and ties to other organizations. Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., ranking Republican on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, had pressed chief organizer Bertha Lewis to prove her commitment to reforming the community activist group by showing more transparency. “The bottom line is there’s no transparency in ACORN,” Issa said on “FOX News Sunday.” [Why doesn’t Issa just put pressure on committee chairman Edolphus Towns to subpoena her fat ass, put her under oath and get some answers out of her over the corrupt organization she runs? Oh wait, Towns is black and a member of the Congressional Black Caucus so never mind…ed]
A rose (tax) by any other name is still a rose (tax)
President Obama blanketed the Sunday talk shows (except Fox) pushing his ObamaCare again. Among other things he “categorically rejected” the idea that mandating health insurance is not a tax increase even though the IRS would be commissioned to enforce it. This is nothing more than deception, distortion or as Joe Wilson would say…” This is the same man who said: “If your family makes less than $250,000 you will not see your taxes go up by one dime.” Barack Obama when running for president. Now he is proposing a “Cap & Trade” deal that would add between $1700 and $3000 to your energy bill directly and even more as the “economic multiplier” ripples through the economy causing virtually everything to cost more. Yet he says this is not a tax increase. [Every time this Obama clown opens his piehole the Congressman from South Carolina is proven correct when he yelled, “You LIE!”…ed]
Obama open to newspaper bailout bill
The president said he is “happy to look at” bills before Congress that would give struggling news organizations tax breaks if they were to restructure as nonprofit businesses. “I haven’t seen detailed proposals yet, but I’ll be happy to look at them,” Obama told the editors of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Toledo Blade in an interview. Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) has introduced S. 673, the so-called “Newspaper Revitalization Act,” that would give outlets tax deals if they were to restructure as 501(c)(3) corporations. That bill has so far attracted one cosponsor, Cardin’s Maryland colleague Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D). White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs had played down the possibility of government assistance for news organizations, which have been hit by an economic downturn and dwindling ad revenue. [Of course Obama would be happy to bail out the newspaper industry, just like many of us predicted he would do many months ago, because they are willing propagandists for his far left agenda and consumers have become well aware of that especially in 2008 when all remnants of honest unbiased journalism finally kicked the bucket…ed]
Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski will announce today his intent to put in place rules that would allow the federal government to regulate the Internet. In a coordinated move to highlight the decision, and to take credit with the left-wing supporters of the policy, known as “net neutrality,” FCC sources say, President Obama will make remarks after Genachowski’s remarks, endorsing the FCC chairman’s decision. “We couldn’t give them a Guantanamo shut down, or ending the Patriot Act, so this is the immediate payoff to MoveOn and Free Press and the those guys who worked so hard for us during the campaign,” says a White House source. “Getting ‘net neutrality’ codified and under out control was at the top of their list of things for us to do.” [Slight correction, Obama doesn’t “byte”, Obama flat out blows!…ed]
THE elderly were the first group to turn against President Obama’s health-care pro posals, alienated by the plans to cut $500 billion cut from Medicare. The young and the uninsured may be the next to jump ship — out of worry over about the huge premiums they’d have to pay. Requiring everyone to buy insurance will impose a massive tax on all who now are uninsured. The Congressional Budget Office projects that it would force the middle-income uninsured to pay on average more than 15 percent of their income. The poor will still have Medicaid. But for those earning more, the required premiums will be worse than any tax increase. For example, CBO estimates that when the program is fully implemented — by 2016 — an individual earning $32,400 a year would have to pay $4,100 in premiums before getting any subsidy. [But but but, Obama says this government mandated health insurance coverage under threat of heavy fines isn’t a tax on the citizens of this country…ed]

In one of the latest but most distasteful efforts to mute criticism of President Obama’s policies, a left-wing media “watchdog” by the name of Eric Boehlert is suggesting that conservative criticism of Obama could lead to his death. Trying to score partisan political points by raising a macabre scenario, Boehlert claims that there are similarities between alleged hatred of Barack Obama and opposition to John F. Kennedy before he was assassinated. The obvious problem with his amateurish analysis, which has been published under the wild headline, “The Last Time Right-Wing Hatred ran Wild Like This a President was Killed,” is that Kennedy was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald, a communist who was upset with Kennedy’s attempt to overthrow Fidel Castro. It wasn’t right-wing ideology which inspired Oswald; it was Marxism. [What? The leftists are lying about conservatives being a “threat” to Obama’s well being? I’m shocked, SHOCKED they would stoop to this level of disinformation!…ed]
Hillary Clinton has become almost a sad figure, an outsider to a White House dominated by insiders, a cabinet secretary in the era of czars. Now, it seems that Hillary’s own history is repeating itself. Wags wondered why Hillary endured her philandering husband. The conclusion: she wished to leverage her relationship with the President to empower herself (she became a Senator). This time with President Obama? She seems to be falling on the sword to protect the image of President Obama. Muslims mass-producing children to take over Africa, says Archbishop
One of the most powerful figures in the Anglican Church believes that Africa is under attack from Islam and that Muslims are “mass-producing” children to take over communities on the continent. Archbishop Nicholas Okoh, 56, was elected Primate of Nigeria last week and his elevation could exacerbate tensions at a time when Anglicans are working to build bridges with Muslims. Dr Michael Nazir-Ali resigned as Bishop of Rochester earlier this year to work in countries where Islam is the majority religion. [The muzzies wised up. Barack Obama: world leaders ‘see me as a conservative’
President Barack Obama may be regarded as a Communist trying to nationalise health care by his fiercest detractors at home, but other world leaders see him as a conservative, he declared on Sunday. Asked about the antipathy aroused by his stimulus bill, health reform plans, and takeover of ailing banks, the president revealed that the stinging domestic criticism has bemused other politicians whose politics are ostensibly to the Right of his. “I can’t tell you how many foreign leaders, who are heads of centre-right governments, say to me ‘I don’t understand why people would call you socialist, in my country you would be considered a conservative’,” Mr Obama told CNN. [What a load of crap Obama. Name some names of we’ll just pull a Joe Wilson on you. Beside, the only thing other foreign leaders see in you is an inexperienced sucker who will give away the wealth and security of our country in exchange for their pretending to like you. Pro-Life Investigator Behind ACORN Sting Operation
Exposing pro-abortion university health clinics and Planned Parenthood’s criminal cover-up of child rape were the first major sting operations of undercover investigator James O’Keefe, who is now famous for exposing the systemic corruption within ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. ACORN is one of the “community organizer” groups closely affiliated with President Barack Obama, which helped him capture the presidency; but the group now has been exposed for having officials willing to abet fraud and child sex trafficking. James O’Keefe is a 25 year-old Rutgers graduate and a veteran of Live Action films, the group led by UCLA student Lila Rose, 20, which began a series of sting operations in order to uncover a culture of corruption rife within the abortion industry. Students in Belleville school bus attack are charged
Two Belleville West High School students were charged under the juvenile code today with felony counts of aggravated battery stemming from the violent beating of a 17-year-old student on a school bus earlier this week. The incident grabbed national headlines and incited a heated debate about race when police said the incident, involving a white victim and black assailants, may have been racially motivated. They later recanted that claim. The two teenagers—who are 14 and 15 years-old—were charged as juveniles because they are under the age of 17. Illinois law shields the disclosure of their names because they are minors. (SNIP) On the issue of a hate crime, Haida said: “No evidence is present to suggest that the motive for the conduct was the race of the victim. [Oh yeah, it’s NEVER a hate crime when a bunch of black punks beat the crap out of a white kid but flip the races in this scenario and suddenly it’s ALWAYS a racial attack. On-the-air prez seems like endless ‘infomercial’
During his first eight months in office, President Obama has sat down for three times as many television interviews as his most recent two predecessors combined. And with yesterday’s run of the Sunday-morning news show circuit and tonight’s airing of “Late Night with David Letterman,” Obama continues to blaze through the media hotter than any political figure in modern history. (SNIP) In the New York Times alone, according to the Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University, 405 stories on the Obama administration have appeared on the front page through mid-August of this year totaling 119,678 column inches. That’s 9,973 column feet of Obama coverage on the Times front page alone. Police: NYC imam tipped off terror suspect
A New York City Muslim imam, who acted as a police informant, betrayed his handlers by tipping off a terrorism suspect, authorities say. Ahmad Wais Afzali, of the New York borough of Queens, was among three men arrested during the weekend in connection with an alleged bombing plot. In court records released Sunday, authorities allege Afzali, 37, tipped off suspected plotter Najibullah Zazi that federal agents were looking to arrest him and then lied to police about what he had done, The New York Times reported Monday. Candidate Obama didn’t think so on his ‘Yes, we can!’ campaign slogan
es we can? Barack Obama wasn’t sure at first. The President initially blanched when his now-famous campaign slogan was first introduced by political guru David Axelrod during the 2004 Illinois Senate race, a new book reports. “I don’t like it. Come on,” Obama was quoted as saying in “Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage,” by author Christopher Andersen. Obama felt the catch phrase was “childish” and “corny,” and even asked his staff to find something else – until his wife, Michelle, convinced him otherwise, the book reports. “It will work,” she said, swaying the future President. “Trust me.” [When you are attempting to appeal to a group of people who’s IQ averages right around 50 idiotic campaign slogans like this work just fine…ed]
Health reformers targeting ‘enemies’
The plan for a series of grass-roots demonstrations Tuesday to promote President Obama’s health care agenda calls for tightly scripted events and an “escalation” of efforts against “enemies” of reform. Organizers insist there is no comparison to rowdy summer town hall meetings and recent “tea party” protests that have challenged White House policies. But Health Care for America Now (HCAN), which is backed by a coalition of labor unions and liberal groups including ACORN and MoveOn.org, organized the protests to target insurance companies and drafted the plan, which describes the demonstrations as part of its “insurance enemies project.” [Ah, this isn’t a “grass roots” effort this is the very definition of ASTROTURFING. When former president Jimmy Carter accuses the opponents of Barrack Obama’s policy of nationalizing broad aspects of our economy and spending us into bankruptcy of being “racists,” perhaps he should look in the mirror. In his 1982 book, Keeping Faith, Carter disingenuously said he “was not directly involved in the early struggles to end racial discrimination.” No kidding — in fact, he directly and unambiguously supported segregation. When Carter returned to Plains, Georgia, to become a peanut farmer after serving in the Navy, he became a member of the Sumter County School Board, which did not implement the 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision handed down by the Supreme Court. Instead, the board continued to segregate school children on the streets of Carter’s hometown. Quote of the day.
I think it’s important for the media, you know – not to do any media-bashing here – to recognize that right now, in this 24-hour news cycle, the easiest way to get on CNN is or Fox or any of the other stations, MSNBC is to say something rude and outrageous. If you’re civil and polite and you’re sensible and you don’t exaggerate the-bad things about your opponent and you know, you might get on one of the Sunday shows. But you’re not going to be on the loop. And, you know, part of what I’d like to see is all of us reward decency and civility in our political discourse.
-Barack Hussein Obama, the community organizer who specialized in training groups like ACORN on how to be rude, uncivil and outrageous in order to bully private businesses and the government to capitulate to their demands.
