Iraqi Journalist (and probable New York Times new hire) Throws Shoes At President Bush. George Ducks Them Both.
A surprise visit to Iraq by President George Bush got a little hairy when a pair of shoes came flying towards his head while standing at the podium during a press conference. An apparently upset Iraqi journalist was taken to the turf by security personnel after he yelled out something akin to, “This is a gift from the Iraqis. This is the farewell kiss, you dog!” and chucked his fine Iraqi footwear at the President’s noggin.
