Dismantling America

Just one year ago, would you have believed that an unelected government official, not even a Cabinet member confirmed by the Senate but simply one of the many “czars” appointed by the President, could arbitrarily cut the pay of executives in private businesses by 50 percent or 90 percent? Did you think that another “czar” would be talking about restricting talk radio? That there would be plans afloat to subsidize newspapers– that is, to create a situation where some newspapers’ survival would depend on the government liking what they publish? Narcissistic Rage in the White House

The term “narcissistic rage” gets 26,000 citations in Google Scholar. It is a common feature of extreme or pathological narcissism. While psychiatrists often say they can’t do long-distance diagnosis, it really isn’t that hard if you have a lot of information about a person and can watch how he operates from day to day. Intelligence agencies around the world have psychiatric staffs for exactly that purpose. While most people are pretty hard to predict, extreme narcissists are comparatively simple. They constantly hunger for ego gratification, they are immature, constantly need to demonstrate their own superiority, often need endless sexual conquests (like Bill Clinton), are manipulative, constant liars, are completely cold about the human beings they harm (like John Edwards), and they deal with frustration by uncontrollable fits of rage. Constitutionality of health overhaul questioned

On top of all the other obstacles facing President Obama in his quest to pass health reform is this one: Does the U.S. Constitution allow the government to require uninsured Americans to buy medical insurance or impose a tax penalty if they refuse? Congress has never before required citizens to purchase any good or service, but that is what both House and Senate health bills would mandate. While this debate has been overshadowed by other issues involving the plan’s nearly $1 trillion cost and its government-run option, the constitutional argument strikes at a pivotal part of the health care plan’s finances. To make a government-run health care plan work, the nation’s largely uninsured young adults would need to be covered to help subsidize medical care for older and typically less-healthy Americans, legislators say. [The leftists have done a fabulous job of ensuring students in America have no idea what is contained within their Constitution and that it was intended by our founders as a means to RESTRICT the power of the government. In fact I wonder how many public officials and politicians even know what the Bill of Rights are and have the ability to recite the first ten amendments to our Constitution when they take an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic? How can you swear an oath to the Constitution if you don’t even know what it says, or in Obama’s and most of the people who work in his administrations’ case, despise it?…ed]

Obama’s Safe Schools Czar Advocated ‘Queering Elementary Education’

President Barack Obama’s safe schools czar wrote a foreword to a book in 1999 that called for elementary school children to explore their sexual identities, for teachers to incorporate homosexual themes in grades K-5, for discarding a “hetero-normative” approach to education and for “acknowledging children as sexual beings.” Kevin Jennings, now the assistant deputy secretary for education who heads the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools, began the foreword to Queering Elementary Education: Advancing the Dialogue about Sexualities and Schooling (Rowan & Littlefield Publishers) by writing about the Columbine school shooting in Colorado and comparing it to the beating-death of Matthew Shepard in Wyoming and, from there, to the issue of intolerance in schools. [Isn’t it grand that Obama has brought a sick twisted clown like this into his administration? No wonder private and home schooling has taken off like a rocket over the last decade or so…ed]

A GOP health plan

Democrats in the U.S. House and Senate have spent the spring, summer and fall grappling with how to fix the health care system. They’re still trying to craft a bill they can sell to Americans — or even explain in plain English. And the Republicans? Well, as the minority party, they’re mainly on the sidelines. They’ve become the party of “no,” sniping at every Democratic health care reform idea without promoting any of their own. Right? Not entirely. Over the summer and fall, Republicans in the House and Senate have introduced six — yes, six — health care reform proposals. You didn’t hear? Well, those plans didn’t produce much of a ripple because Democrats dominate the Congress. [Ever heard of H.R. 3400? Probably not because Obama and the Congressional Democrats, with lotsa help from their buddies in the media, don’t want you to know that the Republicans, shut out by the same Obama and Democrats in Congress, HAVE BEEN working on fixes for the issues we have within our healthcare system. The problems for Democrat leaders getting something done with healthcare have nothing to do with Republicans, the difficulties in getting anything accomplished are coming from within their own party…ed]

Moveon.org Issues Warning to Democrats Opposed to ‘Public Option’

Moveon.org issued a warning Tuesday to any Democrat who might join Republicans to filibuster a government-run insurance option — if you oppose the government option you will lose support from the organization’s 5 million members. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced Monday that the Senate’s version of a health care reform bill will include a so-called public option. Moveon.org issued its e-mail to its supporters threatening revolt one day later. U.S. electrical grid gets $3.4 billion jolt of stimulus funding

President Obama stepped up his promotion of the job-creating potential of the $787 billion economic stimulus package Tuesday, announcing $3.4 billion in grants to improve the nation’s electrical grid. The federal money will pay for “smart meters,” updated transformers and other devices to make the transmission of power more efficient and reliable. Obama called the grants the largest investment in energy-grid modernization in U.S. history. “There’s something big happening in America in terms of creating a clean-energy economy,” he said. Obama’s vision for changing energy habits and reducing U.S. dependence on fossil fuels, especially foreign oil, relies on establishing a national “smart grid”: an array of switches, sensors and computer chips that will be installed at various stages in the energy-delivery process. [This has NOTHING to do with increasing the amount of energy this country requires to pull out of this manufactured economic malaise. It’s all about controlling our lifestyles and REDUCING our electrical consumption through these so called “smart meters” which are nothing more than a device for the government to begin dictating how you will use energy in your household. Go over a certain arbitrary number pulled out of thin air by some government bureaucracy and you will be charged a hefty tax as punishment…ed]

Inhofe: Cap-and-Trade Largest Tax Increase in U.S. History

Sen. James Inhofe tells Newsmax that the cap-and-trade bill supported by Democrats would amount to “the largest tax increase in the history of America” — and won’t accomplish anything. The Oklahoma lawmaker also he would be “shocked” if the bill has enough votes to pass the Senate. The bill, which was passed by the House, requires a 17 percent reduction of greenhouse gases — mainly carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels such as coal — by 2020 compared to 2005 levels, and about an 80 percent reduction by mid-century. It would also allow polluters to buy and sell emission allowances as a way to ease the cost of compliance. (SNIP) “Here’s the problem they have: The public has drifted away from their side. I can remember when 70 percent of the people in America thought that anthropogenic gas and CO2 were causing global warming. That’s not true anymore. “If people go to my Web site, inhofe.senate.gov, and look it up, [they will see that] I’ve given many speeches on the Senate floor talking about, documenting, literally hundreds of scientists who are on the other side of this issue and are now saying, wait a minute, this isn’t true.” [We all need to be calling our representatives and senators daily if need be and tell them to reject this capitulation to the leftists’ agenda to wipe out the standard of living in this country while stealing even more of our hard earned money…ed]

Barack Obama has failed to defeat conservatism in America

This week’s striking Gallup poll on political ideology is further confirmation that the United States is in essence a conservative nation, which has ironically become even more conservative under Barack Obama. According to Gallup, 40 percent of Americans describe their political views as conservative, 36 percent as moderate and 20 percent as liberal. This is the first time conservatives have outnumbered moderates in America since 2004. (SNIP) Last November, liberal commentators wrote off conservatism in America as dead and buried. As the latest Gallup poll shows they were spectacularly wrong. It is no coincidence that the most watched news network, the top selling national newspaper, and the most listened to radio shows in the United States are now all conservative. [Let’s translate this into some serious ass kicking come 2010 and 2012 and boot these f’n liberals the hell out of Washington DC and our governors’ mansions and take this country back from the brink…ed]

More immigrants cite sexual orientation for asylum

For weeks, Nathaniel Cunningham and his boyfriend secretly lived together in rural Jamaica. They showed no affection in public and rarely spoke to neighbors. Then one morning, Cunningham picked up a local newspaper with a front-page story under the headline, “Homosexual Prostitutes Move into Residential Neighborhood.” His address was listed below. For days afterward, Cunningham said an angry mob gathered on his lawn hurling rocks and bricks and calling them “batty boys” – a Jamaican slang term for gay. Eventually, the pair grabbed what they could and fled on foot. Cunningham said neither he nor his boyfriend were prostitutes – the slur was just another example of the abuse gay men faced in Jamaica. The story was one of many that Cunningham, now 32 and living in Worcester, recently shared with a federal immigration judge in his successful bid to win asylum in the United States. And it’s similar to other stories cited by a small but growing number of other gay, lesbian and transgender asylum seekers who are using U.S. immigration courts to argue that their sexual orientation makes it too dangerous for them to return home. [What kind of crap is this?! Because a bunch of gay people CLAIM they are getting harassed in their home countries by their fellow citizens who don’t dig their lifestyle they are allowed to flood into our country? Perhaps they should try banding together and change the perception of people in their OWN country towards homosexuals instead of simply running away to the awful evil intolerant America?…ed]

Democratic donors rewarded with W.H. perks

During his first nine months in office, President Obama has quietly rewarded scores of top Democratic donors with VIP access to the White House, private briefings with administration advisers and invitations to important speeches and town-hall meetings. High-dollar fundraisers have been promised access to senior White House officials in exchange for pledges to donate $30,400 personally or to bundle $300,000 in contributions ahead of the 2010 midterm elections, according to internal Democratic National Committee documents obtained by The Washington Times. Obama Advisor Tells CNN Fox Is Biased, Won’t Comment On MSNBC

A senior White House advisor on Tuesday told Campbell Brown that Fox News is biased, but refused to comment when the CNN host asked her, “Well, then do you also think that MSNBC is biased?” During a taped interview at the Woman’s Conference in California later broadcast on CNN’s “Campbell Brown,” Valerie Jarrett sidestepped this marvelous question and instead haplessly said, “I don’t want to just generalize all Fox is biased or that another station is biased.” Actually, Jarrett already had, and the incredulous look on Brown’s face when the high-ranking Administration official contradicted herself and refused to talk about MSNBC’s eminently apparent political leaning was absolutely priceless. [msnbc is so far in the tank for Obama their mouth breathers have to wear scuba gear when they go on air. CNBC’s Kudlow Rips MSNBC for Lack of Balance; Calls for Supply-Side Solutions for Economy

It is bad when an anchor from a sister network feels compelled to call out a colleague about the lack of ideological balance, but that’s just what CNBC’s Larry Kudlow did on his Oct. 27 program. In a time when some of CNBC’s critics demand the network be held to a high standard when it comes to balance, a different standard is applied to MSNBC. And a lack of balance is something Kudlow pointed out. Kudlow, referring to the Oct. 26 broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Ed Show,” which featured Rep. Barney Frank, perennial presidential candidate Ralph Nader and the host Ed Schultz, noted all the participants were left-of-center. And in the appearance, Frank made a pitch for the expanded role of government and argued the only reason people opposed it was because they were disillusioned by the government for its failures during the Bush administration, specifically dealing with Hurricane Katrina. Number Of Women Buying Handguns Increasing

Local gun shop owners say they’re seeing an increase in the number of women shoppers right now. The reasons, they say, are many, including the downturn in the economy and violence on the street. According to the National Shooting Sports Foundation, about 48 percent of people taking their first handgun seminars this year happen to be women. CBS 2’s Pamela Jones reports on the growing trend. “It’s very dangerous out there. I mean, there’s people getting robbed here and there,” said Josie Santiago. “It’s just for protection.” Santiago says she’s always thinking about the danger lurking on the streets of the Chicago area. It’s a big reason why she visited Illinois Gun Works in Elmwood Park. Front Range braces for snow as forecast calls for big storm

Weather observers could be measuring snowfall in feet in parts of Colorado over the next two days, with as much as 18 inches expected in parts of metro Denver. The alarming early-season forecast placed local governments and airlines at Denver International Airport on notice. City vehicles were fitted with plows Tuesday in advance of the storm, and some airlines offered limited fee waivers to travelers worried about possible flight cancellations. In the foothills, up to 24 inches of snow is possible. Higher elevations could get 3 feet. [Global warming is due to sweep into Denver and drop a foot and a half of white hot snow in October!…ed]

Suit claims East St. Louis passed up white police chief over race

City officials seeking a new police chief passed up the former director of the Florida Highway Patrol, who formerly was a top commander of the Illinois State Police, because he is white, two former members of a city board claim. (SNIP) But the plaintiffs’ lawyer, Thomas E. Kennedy III, said it was Grimming, and that Parks told his clients “the city wasn’t ready to hire a white police chief.” East St. Louis has a 97.7 percent black population, according to U.S. census records. [I wonder when this news will hit the mainstream so more people around this country can see it? Yeah, we know it won’t but flip the races in this situation and it would be all over prime time for a month and the city would be FORCED to hire a black police chief when Eric Holder’s Justice Department got wind of what was going on…ed]

Hiroshima and Nagasaki urge Barack Obama to be first president to visit

Japan wants Barack Obama to become the first sitting US president to visit Hiroshima or Nagasaki when he travels to the country next month. The mayors of the two cities, devastated by American atomic bombs in 1945, invited Mr Obama after he gave a speech in April calling for a world free of nuclear weapons. Hopes were also raised when he won the Nobel Peace Prize. [Hey! What a terrific opportunity for Obama to go overseas and bash our country again! But he IS awfully busy playing golf and flying his wife around the country on dates so perhaps he can just send a letter denouncing America as an evil wicked heartless empire?…ed]

Man Says He Was Fired Over God Button

A former cashier for The Home Depot who has been wearing a “One nation under God” button on his work apron for more than a year has been fired, he said because of the religious reference. The company claimed that expressing such personal beliefs is simply not allowed. “I’ve worn it for well over a year and I support my country and God,” Trevor Keezor said Tuesday. “I was just doing what I think every American should do, just love my country.” The American flag button Keezer wore in the Florida store since March 2008 said “One nation under God, indivisible.” Earlier this month, he began bringing a Bible to read during his lunch break at the store in the rural town of Okeechobee, about 140 miles north of Miami. That’s when he said The Home Depot management told him he would have to remove the button. Keezer refused, and he was fired on Oct. 23, he said. “It feels kind of like a punishment, like I was punished for just loving my country,” Keezer said. A Home Depot spokesman said Keezer was fired because he violated the company’s dress code. [I wonder what trigged this action after the guy had been wearing the button for over a year without any issues? Did someone complain about his bible? Would the company have had the same problem if someone wanted to wear a head covering and brought a Koran to work? Or would they have suddenly found themselves all caught up in political correctness?…ed]

New home sales unexpectedly tumble

Sales of new U.S. homes unexpectedly tumbled in September, their first drop in six months, underscoring the hazards to an economic recovery that businesses appeared to be banking on. New single-family home sales fell 3.6 percent to a 402,000 unit annual pace from a downwardly revised 417,000 units in August, the Commerce Department said on Wednesday. Analysts polled by Reuters had expected sales to rise to a 440,000 unit pace from August’s previously reported 429,000. A separate report from the Mortgage Bankers Association on Wednesday showed demand for mortgages has fallen for the past three weeks as buyers move to the sidelines ahead of the November 30 expiration of a popular home-buyers’ tax credit. [True unemployment in this country is over 17%, companies are refusing to take on new hires because of Obama’s policies, home prices are continuing to tumble worrying would be new homeowners they’ll be upside down on their mortgages within a few months, the dollar is disintegrating, the fraud infested government handout for new homeowners is about ready to expire and insane tax increases are coming down the pike out of the Democrat controlled Congress so why is this news so “unexpected?”…ed]

Health Care Bill Favors Marijuana and Cocaine Smokers Over Tobacco Users

Under the Senate Finance Committee version of the health-care bill, health insurance companies would be allowed to charge tobacco users premiums up to 50 percent higher than those of non-users, while marijuana and crack cocaine smokers could not be penalized with higher premiums. According to provisions spelled out in the Senate Finance Committee’s summary of the bill–the so-called “chairman’s mark”–insurance issuers selling policies to individuals could only vary premiums based on three characteristics: tobacco use, age and family composition. [This is nuts! Tobacco is a legal product, marijuana and cocaine are not. Interestingly our president has used (uses?) all three and look where that got him…ed]

Michelle contradicts Obama nativity story

In little noticed remarks, Michelle Obama stated at a public event that her husband’s mother, Ann Dunham, was “very young and very single” when she gave birth to the future U.S. president. Her comments further undermine the official story as told by Barack Obama – that Dunham was married to his father, Barack Obama Sr., at the time of birth. The remarks were made by Michelle Obama during a July 2008 round table at the University of Missouri. Obama was responding to criticism of her husband’s presidential campaign speeches about fatherhood and faith-based initiatives. Michelle Obama explained her husband understands the struggles of low-income families. “He understands them because he was raised by strong women. He is the product of two great women in his life. His mother and his grandmother,” she said. “Barack saw his mother, who was very young and very single when she had him, and he saw her work hard to complete her education and try to raise he and his sister,” Michelle Obama said.
